Our Birth Will Session is a personalized advocacy consultation designed to help you clearly outline your medical preferences, designate trusted decision-makers, and plan for your baby’s care in the event you’re unable to advocate for yourself.
In this session, you’ll create a working Birth Will document that you can bring to your attorney, making the legal process smoother and faster. We’ll walk you through key protections like:
- Power of Attorney
- Advance Medical Directives
- Newborn Guardianship
- Will and Trust Planning
You’ll also learn how to get these documents properly notarized and legally recognized.

As a seasoned birth doula who has crafted birth plans and attended over five dozen births (with an extremely low cesarean rate), I know how to extract and clarify your deepest wishes. I also stay up to date on public policy and legal developments that affect pregnant women and new families. Allowing me to help guide client’s conversation with their attorney on how best to present your pregnancy/birth preferences legally.

Just like having a doula doesn’t mean you don’t need a doctor, this session doesn’t replace having a lawyer.
In both medical and legal settings, my role is that of an advocate — someone who listens carefully to your needs and wishes, and offers feedback based on my knowledge of birth, healthcare systems, and the legal roadblocks that may affect your plans. I help you clarify your voice, anticipate challenges, and frame your preferences in ways that can be communicated clearly to your legal counsel — either during the session (if they attend) or later, using the detailed notes and worksheets we generate together.
